Special Sessions at Conferences

Australian Society for Fish Biology

Annual workshop and conference.

Preliminary notification and call for abstracts

Lake Hume Resort, Albury, NSW, 8 – 12 August 2000.

All members and non-members are encouraged to make their way to Albury for the year 2000 workshop and conference.  Workshop: 8-9 August, 2000.

Theme: Stock enhancement of marine and freshwater fisheries.

The workshop will be covering the main areas of interest with stock enhancement. These include:

* New approaches in stock enhancement methods
* Measuring the success of stock enhancement programs
* The ecological impact of stock enhancement programs
* The genetic impact of stock enhancement programs

We will also hold a management implications and guidelines session. Workshop participants will include marine and freshwater biologists and managers working in all fields of fisheries including conservation programs, recreational and commercial fisheries enhancement programs.

Details of projects looking at both finfish and invertebrate stock enhancement will be discussed. For further details contact Andrew Sanger.
