 The EFAN II proposal
A proposal for an EFAN II was submitted to the 5th Framework by the deadline 11 October 2000. An outline of the EFAN-II proposal was presented in the previous issue of EFAN News (EFAN News 2-2000). The simplified structure of the proposed concerted action consists of three primary activities related to 1) improving quality in age determinations used for the assessment of the living resources 2) advancement of the technology used to analyse age or demonstrate results and 3) improve our understanding of the accretion processes of the calcified material used for age determination.
